Personal data we process

To provide a car rental service we process:

Identity: name, surname, date of birth, national identity or passport number
Contact: telephone, e-mail, billing address
Driving licence: number, class, date of issue
Booking and rental: pick-up and return date and place, vehicle, extras, agreement and handover records
Financial: invoicing details, payment and refund records, deposit and damage charges
Legal: traffic fines, motorway and bridge tolls, damage and insurance files
Technical: website usage records, IP address, cookie records

Purposes

Creating the booking, handing the vehicle over and taking it back
Performing the agreement, invoicing and collection
Handling traffic fines, tolls and damage
Customer support, requests and complaints
Meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes
Sending commercial electronic messages where you have consented

Legal bases

Under Article 5 of the Law: performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, establishment and protection of a right, and the legitimate interests of the controller. Commercial electronic messages and non-essential cookies rely on your explicit consent alone.

Recipients

Your data may be shared with insurers, payment institutions, accountants, information technology suppliers and competent public authorities, where this is required to perform the agreement or to meet a legal obligation. Any transfer abroad is made under Article 9 of the Law.

Retention

Data is kept for as long as the purpose requires and until the statutory limitation periods and commercial record-keeping periods end; afterwards it is erased, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the Law you may learn whether your personal data is processed, request information about it, learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly, know the third parties to which it is transferred at home or abroad, request correction of incomplete or incorrect data, request erasure or destruction, request that these actions are notified to the third parties concerned, object to a result reached solely by automated analysis, and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
